TearLog Privacy Policy

1. Data We Collect

• Account info: name, username, email address, profile photo
• Entry content: the text you write and the photos/videos you attach
• Device info: push notification token, language preference, time zone
• Usage data: session and access records (for security)

No location data is collected.

2. How We Use It

• To show and store your entries
• To verify your account and keep it secure
• To send notifications if you have opted in
• To automatically screen uploaded images/videos for illegal content

Your data is not used for advertising and is never sold to third parties.

3. Privacy of Your Entries

Your entries are never shown to another user under any circumstances. The app has no way to share content, view another user's entries, or search across users.

4. Third-Party Services

• Firebase Cloud Messaging: push notifications
• Google Cloud Vision: automated safety screening of uploaded images
• Cloudflare R2: media file storage

5. Retention and Deletion

When you delete your account, your profile information, all of your entries, uploaded media and device connections are permanently removed. Per GDPR/CCPA/KVKK, this action is performed immediately upon request and cannot be undone.

You can delete your account:

• In the app: Profile > Settings > Delete Account
• On the web: at [/account/delete](/account/delete) using an email verification link (works even without the app installed)

6. Your Rights

Under GDPR and KVKK you have the right to access, correct and delete your data, and to object to its processing.
